Short Profile

Kwanruetai Boonyasana was born in Tak, Thailand. Her major research fields are energy economics and international trade, and she is also interested in doing research in marketing. When she was a high-school student, she received a scholarship award from Somdej Prasrinakarintra (the mother of King Rama IX) to continue her education. In 2008, She was offered a scholarship from Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) to study at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, and completed my PhD in Economics from that university in 2013. While there, she received the best presentation award from the Graduate Research Festival in 2011, and scholarships from the International Association for Energy Economics for international conferences in Canada (2009), Sweden (2010), the United States (2011 and 2013) and Australia (2012). In 2013, she returned to Thailand to take a position as lecturer at RMUTP in Bangkok, and was granted the distinguished award for 2016 by the National Research Council of Thailand for her PhD thesis “World Electricity Co-operation”. In addition, she was awarded ‘Certificate of Fellowship’ from Australian Academy of Business Leadership, Australia, in 2016, and ‘The Best Researcher’ from Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, Thailand, in 2017. In conclusion, She is an energy economist, who believes that “education can lead to success and happiness”.
