Dr. Kamile Hamiloğlu has been working in the field of Applied Linguistics and ELT/EFL more than 30 years. She holds an MA and PhD in Educational Sciences from the Boğaziçi University, Turkey; and an EdD in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from the University of Leicester, UK. She also holds a teacher training certificate in Critical Thinking from Oregon University, USA and received a certificate in Neurolanguage Coaching from LCC in London, UK. She has taught various courses at BA, MA and Doctoral levels in undergraduate and graduate programmes at Boğaziçi, Marmara and Bahçeşehir Universities in İstanbul, Turkey, and is currently working as a lecturer in the department of Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching at Marmara University, İstanbul, where she also chaired the department 6 years. She has also worked as a teacher-trainer for Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press and as an academic consultant and co-ordinator for several private schools in Istanbul so far. She has been presenting her research in many international conferences and has been delivering academic talks as invited speaker at home and abroad since 1995. She has been publishing for local and foreign publishers and so is the author, co-author and editor of several EFL/ELT coursebooks and various academic books. Her academic research interests include professional identity, professional development, curriculum and coursebook evaluation and design, culture, critical thinking, critical reflection, critical pedagogy, and transformative learning in Second Language Teacher Education (SLTE) and in English as a foreign language (EFL).
