I am Komal, PhD Scholar in Department of Political Science, University of Delhi, working on “Contextualizing Hindu Code Bill in Women’s Empowerment: An Inquiry into Hindu Women’s Property Rights”. I have been awarded MPhil degree on “Understanding Women’s Question in Ambedkar’s Social Philosophy” in 2015. I have presented papers in various conferences and seminars, such as “The Democratic Implications of Ambedkarite Movement: A Synoptic View from the Feminist Perspective” in 25th IPSA World Congress 2018 from 21st July to 25th July 2018 at Brisbane, and “Scrutinizing Hindu Code Bill: An Enquiry into Gender-Just Citizenship” in a national conference on Dr. B. R. Ambedkar's Perspective on State, Society and Economy: Revisiting his Vision and Mission organized by Hyderabad Central University from 22-23 February 2017; “Probing Hindu Code Bill: a Circumvent Abstract of Caste Hindu Women’s Negotiation for Rights” in two day national seminar on Gender, Caste, Religion and Region: Gleanings From Women’s Writings on 8-9 March 2017 at Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh; “Women’s Question in Ambedkar’s Social Philosophy” in an International Conference on Philosophy of B. R. Ambedkar in Contemporary Period from 16-18 March 2016 at Central University of Gujarat; titled “A Feminist Interpretation of ‘Castes in India’ ” in a workshop organized in Deptt. of Political Science, University of Delhi, from 18-27 February 2016 and paper titled as “Women’s Rights in Complex Caste Identities” in department of political science, University of Delhi, 2015. I also have a publication viz. “Negotiating the Dignity of Women: An Interrogation of the Devadasi Custom”, in Social Action, January-March 2016, Vol. 66, No. 1, ISSN 0037-7627 other than some write-ups in popular magazines. Other than this, I marked my academic appearances at LSE, London (2015), Independent University Bangladesh, Dhaka (2018), and University of Lucerne, Switzerland (2019).
